Windows 7 does not include Microsoft Office Input Method Editor (IME) 2010. Therefore, when you start the next version of Office on a computer that is running Windows 7, and then you start IME, an earlier version of IME is started. However, Windows 8 includes a newer IME.
Note IME 2010 is included in Microsoft Office 2010.
This issue occurs because neither Windows 7 nor the next version of Office includes IME 2010.
You can obtain IME 2010 by using one of the following methods.
Install IME 2010 by using Windows Update. You will be able to download IME 2010 as an optional update when you check for updates by using Microsoft Update.
Download the IME 2010 installation files from the Microsoft Download Center. To do this, click the following link as appropriate for your system:
Install the 64-bit version of IME 2010 if you are running the 64-bit version of the next version of Office, and install the 32-bit version of IME 2010 if you are running the 32-bit version of the next version of Office.
The installation files for IME 2010 are also available to users who are running Microsoft Office XP, Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft 2007 Office System, Office 2010 on Windows 7, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2), Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 SP2, Windows Vista SP1, or Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3).
