Consider the following scenario:
- You install and configure a software update point in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2).
- You synchronize the catalog for a client computer.
- You create a deployment.
- In the Deployment Schedule page, you configure the software update in the deployment to become available at a specific date and time.
- You create an Operating System Deployment (OSD) task and configure it to use the "Install Software Updates" action.
- The OSD task runs on the client computer.
In this scenario, the TSManager.exe and TSInstallSWUpdates.exe processes freeze. Therefore, the software update is not installed. Additionally, the following message is logged in the SMSTS log:
Timedout waiting for updates refresh complete notification
To resolve this issue, install the following hotfix on the primary site role and client role of System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2. To resolve this issue on the System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 client, first install the following hotfix package on the System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 primary site server. Then, deploy the package that is generated to the System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 client.
