Symptoms

Users of Suggested Sites cannot receive accurate recommendations when you use sites that enable SSL in Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7.This hotfix enables usage history from a small subset of sites that enable SSL, to be shared securely with Microsoft, in addition to the history from other sites that is already available. This history is only shared if the user has opted-in to Suggested Sites.

Cause

This issue occurs because the Suggested Sites online service does not have accurate usage data for sites that use SSL. The necessary browser history is not shared with Microsoft.
