FIX: An internal error occurs in Power View when it is used to access an SSAS 2012 or SSAS 2014 multidimensional cube
When you use Power View to access a Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Service 2012 (SSAS 2012) or SQL Server Analysis Service 2014 (SSAS 2014)multidimensional cube, you may receive an internal error message that resembles the following from Profiler trace of SSAS during the request:
the discover_csdl_metadata request gets an error.
This issue occurs when the following conditions are true:
- There is a dimension attribute that has a ValueColumn defined in the cube.
- The attribute is ordered by AttributeKey or AttributeName.
The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:
Cumulative Update 2 for SQL Server 2014 SP1
Cumulative Update 6 for SQL Server 2014
Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2012 SP2
