FIX: Error occurs when you filter data with date format that differs from DateTime attribute format setting in MDS 2014

Consider the following scenario:
  • Implement a Master Data Services solution on a non-English version of Microsoft SQL Server 2014.
  • Create a DateTime attribute, and select "DD/MM/YYYY" from the Input mask list.
  • Filter the data on the DateTime attribute in MDS Explorer.
In this scenario, you may experience an error.

For example, when you filter the data by using a filter criteria in the date format "MM/DD/YYYY" and the day value is larger than 12, you receive the following error message:
241: Database error: Contact your system administrator

The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.

Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2014 SP1

Cumulative Update 8 for SQL Server 2014
