Outlook Today displays no information under section headings
In Microsoft Outlook, you open Outlook Today and notice that no information is displayed under the section headings, such as Calendar, Tasks, and Messages. This scenario is shown in the following screen shot:
Important Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur.
- Exit Outlook.
- Start Registry Editor. To do this, use one of the following procedures, as appropriate for your version of Windows.
Windows 10, Windows 8.1, and Windows 8: Press Windows Key + R to open a Run dialog box. Type regedit.exe, and then press OK.
Windows 7: Click Start, type regedit.exe in the search box, and then press Enter.
- In Registry Editor, locate and click the following subkeys, depending on the bitness of your Windows and Outlook installations.
For Windows 32-bit running Outlook 32-bit or Windows 64-bit running Outlook 64-bit:
For Windows 64-bit running Outlook 32-bit:
- Locate and right-click the following value, and then click Rename:
- Enter the name of OUTLOOK.exe.bak, and then press Enter. Exit Registry Editor.
This issue occurs when the OUTLOOK.exe value in the registry is configured with one of the following values.
As an alternative to renaming the OUTLOOK.exe value, you can delete it or modify the Value Data to a value that does not cause the issue.
