More information about this security update

The following articles contain more information about this security update as it relates to individual product versions. These articles may contain known issue information.

Nonsecurity-related fixes and improvements that are included in this security update

  • Contains fixes for the following nonsecurity issues:

    • After you save a document as a PDF in Word 2013, the font name in the PDF doesn't appear as the corresponding PostScript name.

    • Some object model methods take a long time to get cell properties in Excel 2013.

    • After you copy a range that contains a data table from one instance of Excel 2013 or Excel 2016 to another, the values from the data table are pasted into the correct destination range, but the data table is also pasted into the original location of the sheet.

    • Assume that you change the default view for new sheets in Excel 2013. When you start Excel 2013 again and create a worksheet on a touch-enabled environment, Excel 2013 may crash.

    • When you open many workbooks in Excel 2016, device context leaks.

    • Some object model calls (Range::HasArray, Range:HasFormula and Range::NumberFormat) are slower in Excel 2016 compared to earlier versions of Excel.

    • It takes a long time to filter large tables in Excel 2016.

    • When you use the Sampling analysis tool of Analysis Toolpak and use 13 as the number of samples in Excel 2016, Excel 2016 crashes.

    • When you try to close a workbook that's opened by a modal userform, the workbook that contains the macro and the userform is closed unexpectedly.
