July 3, 2018, update for Outlook 2016 (KB4022230)

Improvements and fixes

This update fixes the following issues:

• After you use the Rooms button or the Room Finder add-in to change the conference room for a meeting, the Location of the meeting is not automatically updated to match the newly selected room.

Note To fix this issue, you also need to install July 3, 2018, update for Office 2016 (KB3191864).

• This update adds a Group Policy that lets administrators hide the Do Not Send a Response option when attendees respond to a meeting. This policy hides this option when attendees are responding to either the meeting invitation email or the meeting on their calendar.

Note To set the Group Policy, see KB3085591.

By default, when you respond to a meeting, you can send a response, or not send a response, or edit a response. However, some companies want to make sure that all employees always send a response. This setting will remove from the Outlook UI for the user to select the no response. This setting will completely remove the Do Not Send a Response option from Outlook 2016.

• When you click to select a meeting item in the Outbox folder in touch mode of Outlook 2016, the meeting will be canceled.

• This update enables the Outlook Add-in Store for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) scenarios.

• This update provides the translation improvements to make sure that the meaning is accurate. This update also includes the bold and italic shortcuts improvements for the inline reply in the German version of Outlook 2016.

To determine whether your Office installation is Click-to-Run or MSI-based, follow these steps:

1. Start an Office 2016 application.

2. On the File menu, select Account.

3. For Office 2016 Click-to-Run installations, an Update Options item is displayed. For MSI-based installations, the Update Options item isn't displayed.

How to uninstall this update

Windows 10

1. Go to Start, enter View Installed Updates in the Search Windows box, and then press Enter.

2. In the list of updates, locate and select KB4022230, and then select Uninstall.

Windows 8 and Windows 8.1

1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then select Search. If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then select Search.

2. Enter windows update, select Windows Update, and then select Installed Updates.

3. In the list of updates, locate and select KB4022230, and then select Uninstall.

Windows 7

1. Go to Start, enter Run, and then select Run.

2. Enter Appwiz.cpl, and then select OK.

3. Select View installed updates.

4. In the list of updates, locate and select KB4022230, and then select Uninstall.
