Introduction
This July 30, 2018, update for Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, and Windows Server 2008 SP2 fixes an issue in .NET Framework 4.5.2. We recommend that you apply this update as part of your regular maintenance routines. Before you install this update, see the Prerequisites and Restart requirement sections.
Issues fixed
This update addresses an issue that was introduced in the July 2018 .NET Framework updates. Applications that rely on COM components were failing to load or run correctly because of “access denied,” “class not registered,” or “internal failure occurred for unknown reasons” errors.
