Summary

After installing updates released May 9 (KB5026372) or later, including updates release June 13 (KB5027231), devices running Windows 11, version 22H2 might not start properly if multiple languages have been installed. Devices affected by this issue will initiate correctly when powered on, but the Windows desktop and login fields will not display. Instead, a black screen will appear, after which the device becomes unresponsive. The likelihood of encountering this issue is higher if one or more of the installed languages has not been used, such as through the keyboard language switching or changing the Windows display language.

No error message is displayed for this issue. Administrators might find Application Error event 1000 logged in the System Event log, citing “LogonUI.exe” as a faulting application with exception code 0xc000027B.

Various device models are known to be affected by this issue. Our investigation is currently ongoing.
