How to troubleshoot account-related errors

Error code 1051 You receive this error code if your financial institution has been migrated to an improved online service provider. You must set up the online service again in order to receive the updates. When you receive this error code, disable and then re-enable online services.

Error code 1050 You receive this error code if your financial institution's online services have been temporarily disabled. Check back periodically to see if the provider's online services are enabled. Try to update the accounts later.

Error code 1002 You receive this error code if you have recently provided your log on information for the first time, but the financial institution has not yet sent the initial transmission of data from your account. When you receive this error code, wait before you try to update the accounts.

Error code 1001 You receive this error code if you have requested an intraday update but updated account information has not yet been received from your bank or brokerage. Wait and then try to update the accounts later.

Error code 1000 This is the default error code for a new account. Either you have not yet supplied the log on information for this account. Or, the account is held at a financial institution that MSN Money does not connect to. Verify that you entered the correct log on information. Try to update the accounts later.

Error code 0
This is the default error code indicating no problems were encountered. No action is required. This account appears to be updating without problems. -
Error code -1
This error code is the ObjectView Form Definition (OFD) value for the service object. This error code is rare; you may never receive this error code. Error code -2000 You receive this error code if MSN experienced a technical problem processing account information that was received from the data provider and the technical problem causes an internal system failure. To troubleshoot this error code, use one of the following methods:

Error code -3000 You receive this error code if the log on information that you supplied is incorrect and you must re-supply the log on data that you use for your financial institution’s Web site to obtain your account information. If your financial institution recently change their login process, it may take some time to apply those changes to Money.

Visit your financial institution’s Web site, and then sign in to verify that you are using the correct credentials.

Try to re-set up online services for the financial institution by using the same log on credentials that you use on your financial institution’s Web site.

Error code -3001 If you receive error code -3001, your financial institution’s Web site is requesting that you perform some action before Money can finish updating your account. Visit your financial Institution’s Web site, and then sign in. Complete the action requessted.
Note If the Web site recently changed and now requires a second log on every time, such as typing what appears on the Web site, unfortunately the account may not be able to automatically update. If the financial institution offers a download option, you may be able to import that file into Money.

Error code -3002 You receive this error code if the data provider was not able to collect the account information. This issue may occur if the Web site that the data provider tried to collect the information from was down or was not available.

Error code -3003 You receive this error code if the financial institution’s Web site has changed and the data provider can no longer obtain information from this site. . Contact Microsoft Product Support Services and notify the support agent that your financial institution’s Web site has changed recently.

Error code -3004 You receive this error code if the data provider’s hosted pages failed and prematurely sent you back to the MSN Money site without completing the task. To troubleshoot this error code, use one of the following methods:
