Symptoms

When you run the "Report as finished" report in Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0, you may receive the following error message:

Total good quantity reported as finished for the production will be quantity. Feedback for the last operation is quantity in total.

Cause

This issue may occur if the following conditions are true:

  • The Post route card now check box is selected. Additionally, the Automatic route consumption box on the General tab in the Start window is set to Always.

  • The Automatic route consumption box on the General tab in the "Report as finished" window is set to Always.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, perform the route consumption at the start of the update for a production order. Or, perform the route consumption during the "Report as finished" update for a production order.

Note Do not perform the route consumption both at the start of the update and during the "Report as finished" update.

To perform the route consumption at the start of the update for the "Report as finished" report, follow these steps:

  1. In Production in Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0, click Production orders.

  2. Click Update, and then click Start.

  3. Click the General tab.

  4. Click to select the Post route card now check box.

  5. In the Automatic route consumption box, click Always.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Click Update, and then click Report as finished.

  8. Click the General tab.

  9. In the Automatic route consumption box, click Never.

  10. Click OK.

To perform the route consumption during the "Report as finished" update for the "Report as finished" report, follow these steps:

  1. In Production, click Production orders.

  2. Click Update, and then click Start.

  3. Click the General tab.

  4. Click to clear the Post route card now check box.

  5. In the Automatic route consumption box, click Never.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Click Update, and then click Report as finished.

  8. Click the General tab.

  9. In the Automatic route consumption box, click Always.

  10. Click OK.
