Non-security-related fixes that are included in this security update
This security update fixes the issues that are described in the following articles in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
948950 Description of the 2007 Office hotfix package: February 26, 2008
950132 Description of the 2007 Office hotfix package: March 12, 2008
953474 Description of the 2007 Office system hotfix package: June 10, 2008
This security update also fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
You have documents in the Microsoft Office Open XML file format that use versioning and extensibility markup. For example, the documents are created in Word 2010 or Word for Mac 2011. When documents in the Microsoft Office Open XML file format (e.g. DOCX/DOCM files) are edited in Word 2010, Word for Mac 2011, or Word for Mac 2008, and then reopened in Word 2007, spaces are missing between some words in the document.
This issue may occur when you work with documents that are created in an application such as Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac.
Note: This update cannot fix documents after they are saved with the spaces removed; it only prevents future documents from experiencing the same issue. If a document has been saved in Word 2007 before this update, you will need to manually add the spaces between the affected words in the document.
