You cannot use the Setup program to modify the failover cluster instance after you change the failover cluster instance network name by using the Windows Cluster Administrator tool in SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services
After you use Windows Cluster Administrator tool to change the network name of a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services failover cluster instance, you cannot use the SQL Server Setup program to modify the SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services failover cluster instance that has the changed network name.
This problem occurs because the name for the cluster instance is not changed in the registry when you perform the change in a tool that is not a part of SQL Server.

To resolve this problem, change the cluster name in the registry on each node in the failover cluster. To modify the cluster name on a node in the cluster, follow these steps.
Note The node can remain online because the registry entry is only used by the Setup program.
