If you double-click an .OFT file and receive the error "Access to this form template is blocked," you're probably trying to open an unpublished Outlook form or template that has code embedded in it.

In order to bypass this error, you need publish the form in your Personal Forms library or in an Organizational Forms Library associated with your organization's Exchange Server.

To publish the form in your Personal Forms Library, use the following steps:

  1. Select File > Options > Customize Ribbon.

  2. In the Customize Ribbon box on the right, check the box for Developer, then click OK.

  3. Open your .OFT file.

  4. On the Developer tab, select Publish > Publish Form.

  5. In the Look In drop-down, select Personal Forms Library.

  6. Give the form a name and a display name, then click Publish.
