The calendar view can be customized to display different day ranges, a mini calendar, and events from different categories.

In Outlook, you have the option to:

Change view  |  Change work week  |  Go to current day  |  Change List view  |  Change Time scale  |  Resize Sidebar  |  Show or hide events or calendars

Change to Day, Work Week, Week, or Month view

  1. In the Outlook menu, select View.

    Tip: You can also select a View option from the top of the Outlook window. Select the drop down next to the current view to choose from the list.

  2. Select the option you want.

Change Work Week view

  1. In the Outlook menu, select Outlook.

  2. Select Settings, then under Other, select Calendar.

  3. You can select the days in the Work week section to display those in the main calendar view.

Go to the current day, week, or month.

  1. At the top of the Outlook window, select Today.

  2. Your calendar will go back to today's date.

Display events in a list

  1. In the Outlook menu, select View.

  2. Select List. Your calendar will change from a grid view to a list view.

Show more or fewer hours in a day or week view

  1. In the Outlook menu, select View.

  2. Select Time scale, then select the number of hours you want to show on the calendar.

    Note: If you currently have the List view selected, the Time scale option will be grayed out.

Make the Sidebar larger or smaller

  1. Position your mouse between the sidebar and the calendar view.

  2. When your cursor shows a left and right arrow, click on the divider and drag it either to the right or left to make the Sidebar larger or smaller.

    Tip: If you are making the Sidebar smaller, you can hide it completely by dragging the divider all the way over.

Show or hide events or calendars

  1. In the Sidebar, make sure the category list is showing.

  2. Select or clear check boxes next to the event or calendar that you want to show or hide.

In Outlook, you have the option to:

Change to Day, Work Week, Week, or Month view

  1. On the Home tab, select the view that you want.

  2. You'll have the view option of Day, Work Week, Week, or Month.

Change Work Week view

  1. In the Outlook menu, select Outlook.

  2. Select Settings, then under Other, select Calendar.

  3. You can select the days in the Work week section to display those in the main calendar view.

Go to the current day, week, or month.

  1. At the top of the Outlook window, select Today.

  2. Your calendar will go back to today's date.

Display events in a list

  1. On the Organize tab, select List.

  2. Your calendar will change from a grid view to a list view. You can go back to the Grid view at any time.

Show more or fewer hours in a day or week view

  1. In the Outlook menu, select View.

  2. Select Time scale, then select the number of hours you want to show on the calendar.

    Note: If you currently have the List view selected, the Time scale hour options will be grayed out.

Hide the mini calendar or expand it to show more months

  1. Select the divider between the mini calendar and the category list.

  2. When your cursor shows an up and down arrow, drag the divider up or down.

Make the Sidebar larger or smaller

  1. Position your mouse between the sidebar and the calendar view.

  2. When your cursor shows a left and right arrow, click on the divider and drag it either to the right or left to make the Sidebar larger or smaller.

    Tip: If you want to completely hide the Sidebar, in the Outlook menu, select View, then uncheck Sidebar.

Show or hide events or calendars

  1. In the Sidebar, make sure the category list is showing.

  2. Select or clear check boxes next to the event or calendar that you want to show or hide.
