To permanently close your OneDrive account, you must close your Microsoft account.

  1. Cancel subscriptions and make sure you do not leave anything important behind because, when you close your account, your files and folders will be deleted and they cannot be recovered.

  2. Sign in to Close your account, review the page, and select Next.

  3. For each item, select the check box to confirm you have read and acknowledged the information.

  4. In the drop-down list for Select a reason, select why you want to close this account, then select Mark account for closure.
