Word offers you the option of having a file format conversion dialog box appear when you open a document in a non-Word format such as plain text, RTF, or HTML file.
-
If the check box is selected, Word informs you that it's doing a conversion and gives you the chance to select a different file converter, if you want to.
-
If the check box is cleared, Word does the conversion automatically.
If you no longer want this dialog to appear, you can disable it in Word options.
-
Open the Word Options dialog. Select File > Options.
-
In the left pane, select Advanced, and scroll down to the General category.
-
Clear the Confirm file format conversion on open check box.
-
Click OK to save your changes.
