Create a channel

Note: By default, all members of a team can create channels, though a team owner or admin can restrict who can create channels. 

1. In combined mode, select Channels in the chat pane, or  Teams in the left pane and choose a team.

2. Select the More options () next to the team name and choose  Add channel.

3. Enter a Channel name and an optional Description.

4. Choose Standard or Private under Choose a channel type, and then select Create. Depending on your permissions, you may or may not have a privacy setting. Note that only team owners can create Shared channels.
