Important: Copilot in Planner (preview) is beginning to roll out in the new Planner app in Teams. When available, you can access it with your Project Plan 3 or Project Plan 5 license.

Let's look at an example. Sebastian owns two local ice cream shops. During his business’s first couple of years, he offered only ten different ice cream flavors that could be served in bowls, cones, or as milkshakes. This year, Sebastian wants to expand his menu to include sundaes, but he’s not sure how to launch a new product type. Copilot in Planner can help Sebastian develop a launch plan for his sundaes.

To create a new product launch plan using Copilot in Planner, Sebastian completes the following steps:

  1. Select + New plan.

  2. On the New plan window, select Premium.

Note: Basic plans don’t have Copilot available to use.

  3. Enter a name for the new plan, select whether to pin the plan to the left navigation, and choose a group to assign the plan to (optional).

  4. Select Create.

  5. At the top right of the new plan, select the  Copilot IconCopilot icon.

  6. In the compose box, enter “Create a plan with buckets, goals, and tasks for adding sundaes to an existing ice cream shop's menu.

  7. Select the Send arrow and Copilot creates buckets, tasks, and goals for launching sundaes as a new menu item.

With this plan outline, Sebastian can edit the plan however he needs, or he can use Copilot in Planner to help him add more tasks, revise goals, and edit buckets too.
