Right-click a section tab, or the area to the right of the section tabs and select
 New Section Group. -
In the New Section Group box that appears, type a section title, and then press Enter.

Drag existing tabs into the new section group or select the group and choose + Create a New Section.
Creating a new section group isn't currently possible in OneNote for the web. You can, however, create a new section group in the OneNote desktop app.

To open the desktop app, at the top of the ribbon, select Editing > Open in Desktop App.

On the Notebooks menu, choose Sections and select New Section Group.

In the New Section Group box, type a section title, and press Enter.

Drag existing tabs into the section group or select the group title and press ⌘+T to create a new section.
