Creating a workflow
Create a new workflow from a template

Open the Workflows app

Select a template from within the home page carousel or select All templates to view the full catalog and then select a template from there.
Tip: You can also find templates by using the search bar at the top of the Home or Templates page. Just enter a few keywords describing the workflow you need and select from the suggested options.

Follow any prompts and fill out the required fields.

When you're done, select Save to create and activate your workflow.
Let AI build it for you—just tell us what you want automated.
Note: This feature is currently rolled out to customers in Teams public preview and SharePoint targeted release.
Type in what you want to automate, and Workflows will generate a suggestion in seconds. You can tweak it, make changes, and publish when you're ready. No tech skills needed—just your idea.

Open the Workflows app.

At the top of the Home or Templates page, select the search bar.

Type a short description of the workflow you want to build. For example, “Send a weekly reminder at 9AM to my team to update their status”.

Select the suggested workflow under “Suggestion” section within the search box drop-down menu.

On the editor page, review the prefilled details. Fill in any additional required fields to tailor the workflow to your needs.

When you're done, select Save to create and activate your workflow.
Create a new AI powered workflow from a template

Open the Workflows app.

Select a Copilot template from within the home page carousel or select All templates to view the full catalog and then select a template from there.
Tip: These templates will have the Copilot icon on the template card indicating that they use AI. Under the All-templates page you can also filter to only show all AI powered workflows.

Follow any prompts and fill out the required fields.

When you're done, select Save to create your AI powered workflow.
Open the Workflows app

Open the Workflows app

Select Build from scratch near the top-right corner of either the Home or Templates page.

Choose what will start your workflow (trigger) and then choose what your workflow will do (action)
Tip: You can update the trigger or action at any time. Just select the drop-down arrow (˅) within the sentence to choose a different option.

Follow any prompts and fill out the required fields.

When you're done, select Save to create and activate your workflow.
