This article describes the formula syntax and usage of the CSC function in Microsoft Excel.

Description

Returns the cosecant of an angle specified in radians.

Syntax

CSC(number)

The CSC function syntax has the following arguments.

• Number    Required.

Remarks

• The absolute value of Number must be less than 2^27.

• If Number is outside its constraints, CSC returns the #NUM! error value.

• If Number is a non-numeric value, CSC returns the #VALUE! error value.

• CSC(n) equals 1/SIN(n).

Example

Copy the example data in the following table, and paste it in cell A1 of a new Excel worksheet. For formulas to show results, select them, press F2, and then press Enter. If you need to, you can adjust the column widths to see all the data.

 Formula Description Result =CSC(15) Returns the cosecant of 15 (1.538). 1.538
