Divide numbers

Division is represented by the / (forward slash) arithmetic operator. For example, type =10/5 and then press Enter. The result is 2.

To divide a cell by a number or another cell, =A3/5 divides cell A3 by 5, and =D6/A3 divides cell D6 by cell A3. 

To trap errors such as divide by zero errors, see Use the IFERROR function.
