You know if your recall was successful if you get a message with the subject line "Message Recall Success."
When you recall an email in classic Outlook, make sure to:
-
Select Delete unread copies of this message or Delete unread copies and replace with a message.
-
Check the box for Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient.
-
Select OK.
For more info, see Recall or replace an email message that you sent.
In new Outlook, after you recall a message, you'll receive a message-recall report in your inbox. To see the status of your recall attempt:
-
Open the message entitled Message Recall Report.
-
In the message, select the link named "View Message Recall Report".
-
The report opens in a browser window. There are three possible statuses: Recalled, Pending, Failed. Often the status is Pending at first. You can refresh the report later for an updated status.
