ISSUE

You may receive an error, "Something went wrong... You may need to make an app password," on new Outlook for Windows when attempting to add an account or attempting to send or receive email from some third-party email accounts.  

STATUS:  INVESTIGATING

The Outlook team is investigating this issue.

WORKAROUND 

If you are experiencing this problem, please use Outlook web, Outlook Mobile, or classic Outlook while the issue is being investigated.
