Copilot in OneDrive is currently available on OneDrive Web for commercial users only.
Copilot in OneDrive is currently rolling out and may not yet be fully available for all users or organizations.
Copilot in OneDrive is bundled as a part of Microsoft 365 Copilot and is always on for licensed users. To learn more about enabling Copilot in your organization, see Enable users for Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365.
Copilot in OneDrive can be disabled by your administrator by unchecking MicrosoftCopilot in SharePoint from the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Copilot unlocks great new ways of engaging with your files. Here are a few use cases to get you started:
-
Ask questions on information in your files and Copilot will give you answers directly in chat. Now you don't need to search and open files to get what you're looking for, simply ask Copilot and get answers.
-
Copilot can help you catch up on multiple files by quickly summarizing them. Need to get the main points of an 80-page PDF report before a meeting? Just ask Copilot!
-
Reference existing files in your OneDrive to get Copilot's help on things like preparing FAQs, recommendations on improving a file for an executive meeting, or comparing the main differences between two documents.
-
Copilot is also great at helping you compare the differences between two or more files. You can ask Copilot to create a table or a text summary of two or more files without having to open and close your files.
Copilot uses your files and files that you have permission for to provide you with insights on your content. Copilot can only be activated on the files that you select in OneDrive.
Copilot can only access files that you have permissions for. This includes files in your OneDrive as well as files shared with you in your organization. Copilot can understand most types of documents that contain text, but it does not yet support images, videos, and other types of files.
Yes, Copilot can answer questions about a file stored in SharePoint if it's been shared with you. You can also use Copilot to ask questions on files in document libraries when accessed from OneDrive Web (via Quick Access).
Currently, you can use Copilot to ask questions on your files from OneDrive Web only. However, we are working on bringing Q&A on files to SharePoint and document libraries soon.
-
Multiple file actions (such as summarization, comparison, Q&A) are currently limited to 5 files. We are working on increasing this limit very soon.
-

Folder Q&A is not currently supported

Restricted to files under 150 MB but support for larger files is coming soon
