How do I report abuse in GroupMe?

In GroupMe, you can report abusive content with the Report a concern feature.

Important: When you report abuse, your identity is safe (the person you report will not know who reported them). We will process the data in your request and determine what action needs to be taken (deleting a message, blocking a user, etc.). Learn more about what data is collected and how it's used.

To report a message for abuse:

  1. Right-click the message you want to report.

  2. Select Report a Concern.

  3. Choose the type of concern, then add any additional details about the offensive behavior.

  4. Select Send.

To report a contact for abuse:

  1. Select Contacts  Contacts button.

  2. Select the contact you want to report, then select Report a concern.

  3. Choose the type of concern, then add any additional details about the offensive behavior.

    • You can Also block the user by switching the toggle.

  4. Select Send.

To report a group for abuse:

  1. Select the group you want to report.

  2. Select the group's avatar (profile picture), then select Report a concern.

  3. Choose the type of concern, then add any additional details about the offensive behavior.

  4. Select Send.

To report a message for abuse:

  1. Tap and hold the message you want to report.

  2. Select Report a concern.

  3. Choose the type of concern, then add any additional details about the offensive behavior.

  4. Select Send

To report a contact for abuse:

  1. In the More  More button in GroupMe  menu, select Contacts  Contacts button in GroupMe.

  2. Select the contact you want to report, then select Report a concern.

  3. Choose the type of concern, then add any additional details about the offensive behavior.

    • You can Also block the user by switching the toggle.

  4. Select Send.

To report a group for abuse:

  5. Select Send.

To report a message for abuse:

  1. Hover over the message you want to report, then select More More options button.

  2. Select Report a concern.

  3. Choose the type of concern, then add any additional details about the offensive behavior.

  4. Select Send.

To report a contact for abuse:

  1. Select Contacts  Contacts button.

  2. Select the contact you want to report, then select Report a concern.

  3. Choose the type of concern, then add any additional details about the offensive behavior.

    • You can Also block the user by switching the toggle.

  4. Select Send.

To report a group for abuse:

  1. Select the group you want to report from your chats.

  2. Select the group's avatar (profile picture) to access the dropdown menu.

  3. Select Report a Concern.

  4. Choose the type of concern, then add any additional details about the offensive behavior.

  5. Select Send.
