When your chat doesn't show or you can't type in the chat window, try these steps.Â

If you see some chats but not all, a chat may be hidden. To find a chat, see Find a chat or message.
If no chats show, or the left chat pane is missing:

Right-click the Teams icon on the bottom taskbar and select Quit. Restart Teams to refresh the connection with the Teams server.

If this doesn't work, try clearing the Teams cache. For more info see Clear the Teams cache,
Important: If chat still doesn't appear, check with your Teams admin for changes in policy or settings.Â
