We've just launched a new, pilot program for Outlook for Microsoft 365 troubleshooting. This program, powered by Microsoft Services, will allow users to receive targeted information to help solve potential problems, as well as let them search our help and support content.
For tenant admins, you can not only receive this same, targeted information, but also contact a support agent dedicated to Outlook for Microsoft 365.
This program will be rolled out gradually over the next few months and is available if you are running the latest Microsoft 365 Current Channel build.
What information does this new troubleshooting program require?
This pilot program relies on diagnostic information your users upload to the cloud. Microsoft services analyzes this information to provide the most targeted, accurate suggestions and solutions possible. To obtain this diagnostic information, users can select Help > Troubleshooting.
For Tenant admins, to obtain this diagnostic data, find information about ongoing incidents that may be impacting your tenant, or to contact an Outlook support agent, go to Help > Contact Support.
How can I disable this troubleshooting option?
If you'd like to disable this new diagnostics and troubleshooting program, you can set the registry key DisableSupportDiagnostics. Outlook needs to be restarted for the registry key to take effect.
-
Open the Registry Editor and add the "DisableSupportDiagnostics"=dword:00000001 value in one of two places.
-
To disable diagnostics for a single user, add the DisableSupportDiagnostics key in the following location: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\General]
-
To disable diagnostics as a group policy across your organization, add the DisableSupportDiagnostics key in this location: \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\GeneralÂ
