Important: When you merge cells that contain data, only the content in the upper left or left most cell is preserved. To merge cells and keep the data, see Use the TEXTJOIN function.

  1. Select the cells to be merged.

  2. Select Home and then choose  Excel merge and center icon Merge & Center. From the keyboard, press ALT+H, M, C 

To unmerge, select the merged cells, and select Excel merge and center icon Merge & Center again, or choose  UnMerge cells button Unmerge Cells from the dropdown.
