Use the More Filters dialog box to select a filter to apply, copy, or edit.

You can:

  • Select and apply a filter.

  • Apply a highlight filter.

  • Choose a command to edit or copy an existing filter.

  • Create a new filter.

On the View tab, click the Filter dropdown and click More Filters.

Details

Filter type

Task     Displays task filters in the Filters list. Click the Task option if you want to review all task filters or create a new task filter. By default, this option is selected if the current view is a task view.

Resource     Displays resource filters in the Filters list. Click the Resource option if you want to review all resource filters or create a new resource filter. By default, this option is selected if the current view is a resource view.

Filter list

Specifies a filter to apply, copy, or edit.

Task filters

For information about an individual task filter, insert the column with the same name in a sheet view, point to the column heading, and click the link in the ScreenTip; for example, "Help on Confirmed." A Help topic about the column will be displayed.

Resource filters

For information about an individual resource filter, insert the column with the same name in a sheet view, point to the column heading, and click the link in the ToolTip; for example, "Help on Confirmed." A Help topic about the column will be displayed.

Command buttons

New     Opens the Filter Definition dialog box, which you can use to create a new filter.

Edit     Opens the Filter Definition dialog box for the selected filter. You can then review or modify tests or values for the filter.

Copy     Opens the Filter Definition dialog box for a copy of the selected filter. You can then modify the filter definition to create a new filter.

Organizer     Opens the Filters tab in the Organizer dialog box. Use the Organizer to copy filters within and between project files. You can also delete or rename filters in the Organizer.

Highlight     Emphasizes specific tasks or resources while displaying all tasks or resources. To set formatting for highlighted information, click Text Styles on the Format menu.

Apply     Applies the selected filter to the active view.
