Outlining tasks by using commands on the Project menu
You have been using the Outline commands on the Project menu to outline your project. Microsoft Project provides two faster ways to outline your project: you can use the outline buttons on the Task tab, or you can drag the tasks.
-
To outline using the toolbar buttons, select the task that you want to outline, and then click Outdent
to outdent the task or click Indent to indent the task. You can also make the same outline change to a series of tasks by selecting the task rows and then clicking an outline button. To select a series of rows, click the first row in the series, hold down SHIFT, and then click the last row in the series.
-
To outline by dragging tasks, point to the task names and then drag to the right or left. Project will indent or outdent the tasks accordingly.
