In classic Outlook, in the Search box at the top of the window, type a keyword that's included in the item you want to search for.Â

On the toolbar, use the Refine and Scope options to filter the search results:

Refine lets you filter to a certain sender or messages that have attachments or are categorized.

Scope lets you specify where to search—Current Folder (a narrow scope), Current Mailbox, or All Outlook Items (the broadest scope).

Press Enter when you're done to display items that match. Â

In the Results list, double-click the item you want to open.

In Outlook for Mac, in the Search box near the top right corner of the window, type a keyword that's included in the item you want to search for.Â

In the list of results, select the item you want to open.

On the title bar of the app in new Outlook​​​​​​​, in the Search box, enter what you want to search for (a contact, subject, part of a message, or name of a file) and press Enter.Â

To filter the results based on certain criteria, at the right end of the search box, selectÂ
 Filters. -
Specify the criteria you want to filter on, then select Search.

In the Results list, select the item you want to open.
