In Communities in Teams, you can share and join a community in different ways. A community owner can invite a participant or share a join link or QR code. The settings the community owner sets determine if the community members can share a join link or QR code. For more info on how to manage community settings, see Update community settings.
Note: Joining with a QR code in Teams is only available for Android and iOS users.
There are several ways to share and join a community on a mobile device.
Join a community with an invite
You can join a community with an invite from a community owner. If you receive one, follow these steps:

From your mobile device, tap the notification you received.

You will be prompted to either Open Teams (if you already have the app) or Get Teams (if you don't already have it installed).

After you open the Teams app:

Tap Accept to join the community.

Tap Decline to pass on the offer to join the community and return to the Community home screen.

Join a community with a join link
If you receive a join link for a community, follow these steps:

From your mobile device, tap the join link.

You will be prompted to either Open Teams (if you already have the app) or Get Teams (if you don't already have it installed).

After you open the Teams app and depending on the settings set by the community owner:

Tap Join to join and enter the community or tap Cancel to return to the Community home screen.

Tap Request to join and submit your request to the community owner, or Cancel to return to the Community home screen. After the community owner approves your request, you'll receive a notification and have access to the community.

Note: If prompted, make sure to sign in to the account you use for Microsoft Teams (free).
Join a community with a QR code
If you receive a QR code to join a community, follow these steps:

Scan the shared QR code using your mobile device.

You will be prompted to either Open Teams (if you already have the app) or Get Teams (if you don't have it installed).

After you open the Teams app and depending on the settings set by the community owner:

Tap Join to join and enter the community or tap Cancel to return to the Community home screen.

Tap Request to join to submit your request to the community owner, or select Cancel to return to the Community home screen. After the community owner approves your request, you'll receive a notification and have access to the community.

Note: If prompted, make sure to sign in to the account you use for Microsoft Teams (free).
With Communities in Teams, you can connect with people.
Join a community with an invite

Select Request to join to submit your request to the community owner, or select Cancel to return to the Community home screen. After the community owner approves your request, you'll have access to the community from your community list.
