I understand you are having issues with Excel crashing or freezing. I can help with that. First, let's boot Excel in to safe mode and check to see if it's working.

How to start Excel in Safe Mode

Starting Excel in Safe Mode can allow you to use and troubleshoot it when it has encountered certain problems. This is useful when you need to open a file that you can't under normal mode because the application is crashing or if you need help in identifying an add-in or extension that may be causing a problem on startup.

To open your app in Office Safe Mode:

  1. Right-click the Start button and select Run. Alternatively, you can press the Windows logo key and the R key on your keyboard.

  1. Type in the following command and then press enter.excel /safe

If your issue is resolved after you run Excel in safe mode, see: How to troubleshoot startup problems in Excel.
