Place the cursor on the page in OneNote where you want to add the screen clipping.

On the Insert tab, select Screen Clipping, or press Alt+N,R,1.Â

Use your mouse or finger to select the area of the screen you want to capture. The selection will appear as an image in your notes and be copied to the Windows Clipboard.

OneNote for the web doesn't have a screen clipping option, but here's a web-based workaround.Â

Use your mouse or finger to select the content you want to clip.

Right-click the selection and choose Clip selection to OneNote or Clip image to OneNote.

Press Shift+4. Your cursor will change to a crosshair.

Drag your mouse to select the area you want to capture. Release the mouse button to take the screenshot.

The screenshot will be saved to your desktop. Drag the screenshot into your OneNote page.

Note: You can also use the macOS built-in screenshot tool by pressing ⌘+Shift+5 for more options.
