Note:Â The Compatibility Report checks for compatibility issues with Office 98 for Mac through Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 and with Windows versions from Office 97 through Microsoft Office 2010.

On the Word menu, click Preferences.

Under Output and Sharing, click CompatibilityÂ

Under Compatibility Report, clear the Check documents for compatibility check box.
Tip:Â To check the compatibility of a document after you have turned off the Compatibility Report, on the View menu, click Compatibility Report.
