Name an Action State shape and add other property values.
Name
Type the name of the action state.
Stereotype
Choose the stereotype you want from the drop-down list. If a stereotype you want to use isn't listed, you can add a new stereotype or edit an existing one by clicking Stereotypes on the UML menu.
Partition
Choose the partition you want. You define partitions by dragging Swimlane shapes onto the drawing page, and naming the partition each swimlane represents.
Documentation
Type any documentation you want to add to the element as a tagged value. When you select the shape or icon representing the element, the documentation you type here also appears in the Documentation window.
Displays the Call Action category where you can define the call action for an operation.
Mode
Choose whether the operation the call action invokes will be synchronous or asynchronous. Synchronous indicates that the caller waits for the completion of the operation. Asynchronous indicates that the caller continues without waiting for the operation to execute completely.
Operation
Choose the operation you want the call action to invoke.
Arguments
The arguments for the operation you choose under Operation are listed here. Select an argument, and then click Properties to open the following categories where you can edit the property values associated with the argument: Argument, Constraints, and Tagged Values.
Use the Deferred Events category to select the events deferred by a state.

Lists the events defined for the package which includes the action state. Select the events you want.

Click to select all the events in the list.
Deselect All
Click to deselect all the events in the list.
