The Shows Fill icon Fill command offers a few fills that Auto Fill doesn't. 

  1. On the Home tab, select ​​​​​​​ Shows Fill icon Fill in the Editing group and do one of the following: 

    1. Down, Right, Up, Left, fills the selected cells in the chosen direction.

    2. Series lets you set the direction, type, date units, step and stop values of the fill.

    3. Justify adjust the width of a block of text to selected columns.

  2. Choose the setting to use and select OK.

Tip: Use shortcuts Ctrl+D for down, and Ctrl+R for right.
