The following information describes the two-step verification experience with a call to your mobile or office phone. Sign in to an application or service such as Microsoft 365 using your username and password. Microsoft calls you. Answer the phone and press the # key.

Sign in to Outlook on the web with your work or school account. Go to outlook.office.com. If you're not automatically signed in with your work or school account, follow the prompts to enter the email address and password for your work or school account.

If you can't sign in to your Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, or MSN email account, or you're not sure how to sign in or sign out, here are some solutions.

On the remote screen, open the Sign in to your account page and enter the code that you see in Authenticator. On your remote screen, sign in using your work or school account credentials. After you complete your authentication on the remote screen, return to Authenticator to complete setup.

Add a way to verify sign-in to your Microsoft account. Sign in to the Advanced security options page of your Microsoft Account. Sign in. Select Add a new way to sign in or verify then choose how you would like to receive security codes.
