There are different ways to remove apps and programs, so if you can't find the one you're looking for, you can try another location. Note that some apps and programs are built into Windows and can't be uninstalled. You can try to repair a program first, if it's just not running correctly.

If your printer's status displays "Printer in error state," there may be a problem with the printer itself. If these first two steps did not resolve the error, check the printer for low paper or ink, and be sure the cover isn't open and the paper isn't jammed. If your printer still doesn’t work, continue to step 3.

Block pop-ups in Microsoft Edge. The Microsoft Edge feature that blocks pop-ups is effective in preventing websites from automatically opening a new window or tab, or a partial window on top of your current web page. This feature is turned on by default.

Download printer drivers in Windows. If your printer isn't responding, you may need to remove it and reinstall it so Windows can download and install the proper drivers. Make sure your printer is on and connected to your PC. Open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners .

Open Control Panel in Windows. Windows 10. In the search box next to Start on the taskbar, type control panel. Select Control Panel from the list of results. Note: Many Control Panel features are simpler and faster in Settings . Open Settings.

Windows Photo Viewer isn't part of Windows 10, but if you upgraded from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, you might still have it. To check, press and hold (or right-click) a photo in File Explorer, and select Open with. If Windows Photo Viewer isn't in the list, you cannot install it on Windows 10.

Some apps let you manage background activity, which determines what they can do when they’re in the background and not actively in use. Apps that can run in the background can send and receive notifications, sync information, and stay up to date.
