Encrypt messages by using S/MIME in Outlook on the web
A digital signature assures recipients that the message hasn’t been tampered with. Outlook on the web requires a Windows desktop device to support S/MIME. S/MIME isn't available in Outlook on the web on Mac, iOS, Android, or other non-Windows devices. S/MIME might not be available for your account.

Choose text encoding when you open and save files
Choose an encoding standard when you open a file. If, when you open a file, text appears garbled or as question marks or boxes, Word may not have accurately detected the encoding standard of text in the file. You can specify the encoding standard that you can use to display (decode) the text.
