Some Office 2019, Office 2016, and Office 2013 products come with a product key. If yours did, before installing Microsoft 365 for the first time, sign in with an existing or new Microsoft account and enter your product key at office.com/setup. Redeeming your key is what links your account with Microsoft 365 so you only have to do this once.

Add-ins provide optional commands and features for Microsoft Excel. By default, add-ins are not immediately available in Excel, so you must first install and (in some cases) activate these add-ins so that you can use them. Some add-ins are built in to Excel, such as Solver and the Analysis ToolPak.

SharePoint is a browser-based app that you connect to through your web browser, like so: Go to office.com, and sign in to your work or school account. In the upper left corner of the window, select the app launcher > SharePoint.

Click File > Get Add-ins. Alternatively, you can click Home > Add-ins. You can directly install add-ins from this page or select More Add-ins to explore. In the Office Add-ins box, click Store tab. Browse for the add-in you want.

The Solver Add-in is a Microsoft Office Excel add-in program that is available when you install Microsoft Office or Excel. To use the Solver Add-in, however, you first need to load it in Excel. Windows macOS Android iOS Windows Mobile. Go to File > Options.
