Add East Asian fonts in Windows 10 for use with Office documents
To add the East Asian fonts, you need to install the East Asian language. Installing the East Asian language does not necessarily change the default language you use with Windows; it simply adds the East Asian language as an additional language and downloads the related fonts.

Turn on East Asian language features in Office for Mac
Open any Microsoft 365 for Mac application. For example, Word. Click the Word menu, or the menu for the Microsoft 365 application you opened, and then select Preferences. Under Authoring and Proofing Tools, click East Asian Languages. Select Japanese , Simplified Chinese, or Traditional Chinese.

The ink recognition capabilities in Ink Editor for Word and Ink to Text for PowerPoint support many languages for conversion, but not all languages that are supported by Office.

Use the modern font picker in Office - Microsoft Support
If Chinese, Japanese, or Korean is your primary browser language, you'll see localized fonts names for fonts that support Chinese, Japanese, or Korean names. For example, if your browser use Japanese as its primary language, you'll see MS 明朝 listed in modern font picker rather than MS Mincho.

Substitute the missing fonts in your publication
When you open a publication in Publisher that contains fonts that aren't installed on your computer, you can select the options to temporarily or permanently substitute fonts on your computer for the missing fonts that are used in the publication.
