Virtualization lets your Windows device emulate a different operating system, like Android or Linux. Enabling virtualization gives you access to a larger library of apps to use and install on your device. If you upgraded your device from Windows 10 to Windows 11, these steps help you enable virtualization.

Install Microsoft 365 2019 or 2016 on a PC. Remember a one-time purchase version of Microsoft 365 is licensed for one install only. Depending on your browser, select Open file (in Edge or Internet Explorer), Setup (in Chrome), or Save File (in Firefox).

Microsoft Edge. If you open a page written in a different language than your preferred languages in settings, Microsoft Edge will automatically prompt you to translate it. The Translate icon appears in the address bar when you go to a web page that’s written in a foreign language.

Codecs allow you to play different formats of audio and video files. Media Player supports a wide variety of codecs. Most are included out of the box; some additional codecs can be installed from the Microsoft Store.

Select Install (or depending on your version, Install apps>). From the home page select Install apps (If you set a different start page, go to aka.ms/office-install.) For Microsoft 365 operated by 21 Vianet go to login.partner.microsoftonline.cn/account. For Microsoft 365 Germany go to portal.office.de/account.

Find and add an extension to Microsoft Edge. In Microsoft Edge, select Extensions, located to the right of your browser address bar. Note: If you don't see Extensions to the right of your browser address bar, select Settings and more > Extensions. Select Get Extensions for Microsoft Edge.

If you see a list of Android devices, choose the one you wish to pair with Phone Link to access your favorite apps, respond to texts, make calls, view photos, and more from your PC. Grant permissions on the Link to Windows app on your Android device. You are all set to use Phone Link.
