Report a scam. If you feel like you’ve been the target of a technical support scam, you can help Microsoft stop cybercriminals by reporting it. Learn more about avoiding technical support scams.

Choose the apps that will run when you start your device. Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Startup. Open Startup settings. For any app in the list, select the toggle to set it to On. If you want to change the advanced settings for that app, select the arrow and make changes as desired.

Select Start > Settings > System > Sound. In Input, select a microphone to see its properties. In Input volume, make sure the blue bar adjusts as you speak into the microphone. You can use a voice typing language that's different than the one you've chosen for Windows. Here's how: Search for the language you'd like to install, then select. or install any optional language features you'd like to use. These features, including speech recognition, aren't required for voice typing to work.

You can adjust the recorded audio quality by selecting a bitrate from the dropdown menu. You can adjust the system and mic audio levels while recording by moving the sliders. Set either of these sliders to 0 if you want to completely mute your mic or system audio.

Remove or block notifications in Edge settings. In Edge, go to Settings and more in the upper right corner of your browser window. Select Settings > Cookies and site permissions and select Notifications. Under Allow, you will find a list of websites that are currently sending you notifications.
