Sending a message. If you haven't already set up messages, do the following: On your PC, in the Phone Link, select Messages. To start a new conversation, select New message. Enter the name or phone number of a contact. Select the person you want to send a message to.

Sign in to the Xbox app, and then select the Friends tab. Enter the gamertag in the search box, and then press Enter. Be sure to pay close attention to the gamertag's spelling and spacing. Right-click the profile in the search results that you want to add, and then select Open Profile.
