This article applies if you’ve recently made changes to your device hardware and are trying to upgrade to Windows 11. Hardware changes might affect your upgrade eligibility, though you’ll need to take a few steps to see your updated eligibility in Settings.

Enter that person's account info, select the account type, and then select Add. If you need to remove an account from your PC: Select Start > Settings > Accounts > Access work or school . Select the account you wish to remove, then select Disconnect. Select Yes to confirm your actions.

There's no charge to switch out of S mode. To switch out of S mode, click here to open the Microsoft Store to the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page. On the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page, select the Get button. After you see a confirmation message on the page, you'll be able to install apps from outside of the Microsoft Store.

To upgrade from Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro manually, first check which edition you’re running and your activation state: Select Start > Settings > System > Activation. At the top of the Activation page, you see your edition: either Home or Pro. You‘ll also see if you’re activated under Activation state . Open Activation settings ...

In Outlook 2013 or Outlook 2016, choose File. Choose Account Settings > Account Settings. On the Email tab, choose your account (profile), and then choose Repair. Note: The Repair option isn't available if you're using Outlook 2016 to connect to an Exchange account. Follow the prompts in the wizard, and when you’re done, restart Outlook.

To check if Windows 11 is ready for your device, go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates. If the upgrade is available for your device and you want to proceed, download and install it. Note: Downloading and installing Windows 11 will most likely take longer than a typical Windows 10 feature update.
