There are a few common scenarios in which Windows running on a PC might be discovered to be non-genuine during validation. Repairs. If your PC has been repaired, you might start to see messages on your desktop that Windows isn't genuine.

The exception to this is if you turn off the setting that disables all non-essential connected experiences. The service that roams your privacy settings across devices is also turned off by that switch, so when that setting is off your settings will not roam to, or from, that particular device.

To help protect your privacy, the new Microsoft Edge sets tracking prevention to balanced by default. For increased protection, you can switch your tracking prevention to strict or block all third-party cookies.

USB-C overview. With a USB-C connection, you can charge your Windows 11 PC, and you can also connect to other USB Type-C devices such as mobile phones, docking stations, display adapters, and other devices that have a USB-C port.

Game Bar is built into Windows 11 so you can capture videos and screenshots while playing PC games. While you're playing a game, press the Windows logo key + G on your keyboard to open Game Bar. Locking your Windows device allows you to quickly secure your device while keeping your applications and files open in the background. When you lock your device, anyone trying to access it must enter your password, PIN, or use biometric authentication if you have Windows Hello set up.
